Bards of Neverland are a bold string quartet which juggles with styles, approaches and expectations. Every project is an adventure for experimentation for David Loke, Martin Peh, Jamshid Saydikarimov and Yang Shuxiang.

Daryl Tay

Guitar



Daryl Tay is a session guitar player and gear demonstrator. His playing is a blend of rock, jazz, funk, blues and pop influences.

David Loke

Violin



David Loke is a violinist adept at performing the classical repertoire as well as jazz standards. He composed soundtracks for the movie Strings of Sorrow, as well as for the documentary 3 Cents a Kilo.

DDE Trio

 



DDE Trio are David Loke, Eugene Chew and Daryl Tay. As accomplished players in areas as diverse as chamber music, pop sessions and jazz fusion, the trio play with an energetic and conversational vigour.

Trombone



Erwin Tan is a former Principal Trombonist of the Singapore National Youth Orchestra and is an undergraduate student at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. He has performed Singapore’s first full-scale Wagnerian opera with the Singapore International Festival of Music (SIFOM) Festival Orchestra.

Double Bass & Electric Bass



Eugene Chew is a versatile bass player unbound by music genres and labels. He has supported local and international acts such as Australian jazz pianist Steve Sedergreen and Korean hip-hop duo Leessang.

Jamshid Saydikarimov

Cello



Jamshid Saydikarimov is a cellist and a laureat of numerous international competitions. Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, he received the 2nd Prize in the 2018 YST Conservatory Concerto Competition.

Percussion



Joachim Theodore Lim is as adept at playing timpani in Mahler as he is at drumming in a rock band.

Jonathan Shin

Piano



Jonathan Shin is a soloist, a chamber musician, and a composer who improvises across genres and styles. As a concert pianist, he made his concerto debut at 16 with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

Lorong Boys


Lorong Boys are equally comfortable playing on the hallowed stage of the concert hall as well as on the streets of the heartland. With their signature style and personality, they perform a wide range of genres from classical music to Broadway hits, and from the Top 40 pop hits to jazz standards.

Violin & Viola



Performing regularly on the violin and viola, Renyu Martin Peh brings to Tangent Moves his experience of string quartet performance from his tutelage with the Emerson String Quartet. He is nurturing the next generation of Singapore musicians at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts’ School of Young Talents.

Mervin Wong is a composer, new media artist and designer who embraces the realms between the sonic and the visual. Planeswalker is his alias as an electronic producer and sound artist.

Rit Xu

Flute



Rit Xu is a flautist whose practice is in solo, chamber and large-ensemble improvisation, original compositions as well as jazz and music pedagogy. In 2014, Rit was the first South-east Asian to win the US National Flute Association (NFA) Jazz Artist Competition.

Violin



Hailed as “one of Singapore’s giants of the violin” (The Straits Times), Yang Shuxiang has performed at venues ranging from the iconic Museo del Violino in Cremona to Singapore’s Esplanade and Victoria concert halls.
